Football - In the EPL  Manchester United's new boy Antony scored on his debut and Marcus Rashford got two as Erik ten Hag's men ended Arsenal's 100% start to the season at Old Trafford. 3-1 they beat the Gunners and Bighton hammered sorry bottom side Leicester City 5-2. In Spain Villareal moved up to third in the table after beating Elche 4-0.

 

There were also wins for Valencia, Osasuna and Espanyol. In Italy Jose Mouriniho's Roma were comprehensively beaten 4-0 at Udinese. In France Lens could only draw 1-1 at Reims and stay in third position. 

 

F1 - Max Verstappen continued his march to a second title after a comfortable victory in an eventful Dutch Grand Prix. Second was George Russell, third was Charles LeClerc. The Red Bull driver is 109 points clear of  LeClerc in the Championship table.

 

Tennis - Italian Matteo Berrettini secured his place in the US Open quarter-finals for a second successive year with a five-set win over unseeded Alejandro Davidovich Fokina at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York and American Coco Gauf has beaten China's Zheng Shuai 7-5 7-5.
