Social Security - deduct from employee's salary?

Featured Replies

Over the last 17 years, we have always paid social security payments for our staff instead of deducting from their salary.

Just wondering if others do the same?

It just means you pay a gross salary and your employees receive a net salary.

It's just another way of describing the same thing.

Why do you ask after 17 years?

We have always paid the company contribution PLUS the employee's contribution, so they have nothing deducted from their salaries. Just wondered if other companies did the same?

What did you do with the savings from the reduced rate during COVID?

We’ve btw had a couple of employees who didn’t want to pay social security fund contribution.

Why?

It would be foolish not to, IMHO.

Well, that saved our monthly outgoings of course. We were still operating at a loss but kept all staff employed
