POTJAMAN NA Pombejra, former spouse of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, strongly prefers that their youngest daughter, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, not run for head of a post-election government.

During yesterday’s Care Clubhouse live podcast, Thaksin said his ex-spouse preferred that Paetongtarn only perform as head of “Pheu Thai Family” and spearhead electoral campaigns of Pheu Thai Party without practically offering herself as candidate for head of government in the next election.

“Ing (Paetongtarn’s nickname) will have to win the heart of her mother who strongly preferred she not run for head of government,” said Thaksin, also known as Tony Woodsome.

Even if she did, it would only be for a short time till the next coup d'etat and the military regained control of the trough!

True, but on the bright side at least it would be a reminder on both the domestic and international scene of how despised the Thai military goons are by the Thai people, and that they stole power via the barrel of a gun.

they just need to remove/ban this family totally from any politics along with the military goons, would be great to see some independant people without any ties to the current hierarchy getting in

The mother doesn't want the trouble of having to visit her daughter in Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, London once the fun is over.  But I would quite like to see Ing in action as PM. None of Thaksin's kids appear overly bright the neither of the daughters are photogenic like ther Aunt Yingluck. Thaksin chose his wife because she was the daughter of a senior police general who could advance his career in the police but these are not genetic qualities that can be passed on.

I am sure she has all the qualities to be PM ,

having lots of experience in politics ,been wise,

a leader .........???? , if she ever got the job ,she

would be a puppet , with the strings been pulled

from overseas , until she pardoned her father....

That's rich the person they're choosing to run the country (and make the decisions) has to ask mammy if she can take the job.

Yep. Tradition.

Same as it ever was.
