webfact
Picture: Thai Rath Thai Rath reported from Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand where Mae Ping police were alerted to the discovery of some human remains on railway land being cleared. A backhoe driver made the gruesome discovery at first thinking they were animal bones. But lying scattered at the scene were a handbag containing about 3,000 baht in paper cash and coins, an amulet and a phone charger. But no phone. It has been determined that the bones are of a female aged about 20-30 who has been dead about a year. The remains were found in the Wat Kaet sub-district. Mae Ping police said their investigation could last as long as two weeks. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-09-14 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Only 2 weeks to identify an unknown person that been dead for a year? Are they going for a new record?
tandor
...once again, ridiculous unqualified remarks about the time frame and age without exhaustive forensic studies on the skeletal remains, hair, flesh, clothing etc. Their investigation maybe ongoing for years! RIP.
Bangkok Barry
An ideal job for the police as they don't need to leave their office. Check missing persons and take it from there. Assuming she wasn't an undocumented immigrant then that shouldn't take long, and assuming that the police actually have such a database and are able to link to each other outside of their own province.
