Work Permit Photos

Featured Replies

Just a quick question as I've never seen this mentioned before, but has anyone had to submit photos of them at their workplace prior to getting a work permit? My lawyer is requesting photos of me at the office of my newley formed company standing beneath a sign, as well as me at work in the office.

My company is Internet based and I work from home, so also do not have an office as such - just a room set aside from where I work. The registered office address is a house I rented for 6 months, but since applying for the formation of the company and the papers coming through I have moved house so can't get pics of me at the 'registered office' any longer. I'll soon be changing registered office address to that of a friends so I don't have to keep changing with each move.

Surely the request for photos of me working cannot be correct as I can't work prior to obtaining the work permit !?!?!

Is this a new law or am I totally misunderstanding my lawyer?

I've also submitted the 'passport type' photos needed for work permit so these are totally different to those.

There was mention in another thread of Immigration asking for photos of other employees in the company

as a way of checking that there were enough to justify a foreign employee.

So my guess is that your lawyer is correct, and it is all part of the tightening up process. :o
