So just about to change tyres and the Bridgestone Turanza have been excellent but noisy as hell

I have heard the Michelin Primacy 4 are very good but some have said they wear quickly.

Also the Yokohama advan db look good

Which would you pick or have picked as like i say loved the Bridgestones but could do with less road noise ?

Primacy should give you the softest ride …also very quite. You could also consider Pilot Sport 5 … 5S will give you a more sport like ride

My wife had the Civic RS for a couple of years … tyre noise was really bad … NVH not good at all … the car has gone now …

Hi yes I am told Bridgestone on the Civic are one of the worst saying that when they were new they were fine.

Never had any vibrations though.

Might give the primacy tyres a go.

Still love the car just drove 2k on a recent trip and apart from a BMW or Merc not sure what else would be better.

Fuel economy is awesome as long as your not flooring it everywhere.

When I had my civic, I first had PS4's and was quite happy with them, but they are quite noisy. I then changed to Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport and it was night and day. Very quiet, good grip etc. The civic is gone now, but I still got the rims that you see in the picture ???? If you're interested, let me know ^^

Yes, ours would do 20km/l on a run.

The Merc we have now came on Primacy RFT's. The ride was harsh and noisy. Thailand doesn't have Primacy in conventional tyres in the size that we wanted. So went for PS5 (conventional)...and the ride and tyre noise was like night and day.

Looking at the Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres now thanks

Do you want a sports tire or a comfort oriented tire? I've used ps3 and ps4 on the civis we had (and also on a  swift we have now). Wet grip is fantastic, especially on the ps4 . But they make more noise and a little more harsh. We use the toyo cr-1 on the swift now and they are quiet and soft. Nice ride.

I'd probably go with the primacy 4 if you can get them in the size you want. Our crv had primacy 3st and they are at 47K kms, still plenty of tread left, but may change them out soon. They are also quiet and soft, and handline and steering response is fine.

I don't know about the other brands.

I always buy Michelins here, because I feel safer in wet conditions.

The previous set I bought were changed after 70,000 km. They were not down to the tread indicators, my mechanic recommended changing them due to tread cracking.

I have Primacy 4 and PS5 on my 2 cars. The PS5 are superior in my opinion, turn in and grip both wet and dry are fantastic.

btw I bought them off Lazada and they were recently made and much cheaper just took them to the shop for fitting

Prefer to have a sports tyre

ps4 seem very good might give those a try

Thanks for your imput

Prices from www.tivanon.com  (in Nonthaburi). These are 235/45R18. Not sure what size you are looking for. This shp has quite competitive prices. You can also try tyreplus as they specialise in Michelin.

There is a trade off between sports handling and ride. Also, the lower the profile the harder the ride. I found Dunlop to be softer and quiet.

If you want sport try Pirelli P Zero or Toyo Proxes TR1.

Look on YouTube for tyre reviews.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just an update I went with the Primacy 4 tyres and the car is perfect once again.

Lovely smooth ride after balance and tracking

No noise at all 5 adults in the car fully loaded with suitcases and still managed 20/L . At around 110kph on cruise control

Don't think I will change it for anything else in the near future.

Battery is holding up well after doing a once a week ctek charge.
