The leader of the main opposition Pheu Thai Party has come out to say that the move to file a petition to dissolve the Bhumjai Thai Party (BJT) for its marijuana policy was only a proposal that was discussed but not a decision made by the parties in the opposition block.

 

“The proposal derived from the previous censure debate where opposition debaters were assigned to see whether the issues that were brought up against the ministers who were being grilled in parliament should be followed up by legal means or not,” Opposition Leader Chonlanan Srikaew told Thai Enquirer.

 

“One of the initial proposals was to pursue a legal case against the Bhumjai Thai Party for its marijuana policy and this issue is only being considered right now,” he said.

Phue Thai are a waste of time at the moment. Come up with some sensible policy objectives and people may just listen.

Their connection to Thaksin is all they need.  If Thailand were a real democracy the party would have easily won every election in the last two decades.
