Import Tax On Sports Shoes For Personal Use

Featured Replies

I don’t know if I’m in the correct Forum for this question, but I would like to ask if there is someone that knows the import tax regulations in Thailand and can tell if the below calculation is the norm.

I jus received a pair of Golf shoes, ordered from USA. (Because the model, size and brand I wanted was not to get here)

I had expected to pay 37% tax on the value of the shoes, the value that is clearly marked on the invoice following the parcel. But instead the tax is calculated included the shipping fee. :o

Which of course make the taxation greater.

Thanks & Regards :D

They did the same to me. I imported some very nice dress shoes - $300/pr. They taxed that plus the shipping.

Yes, it is the rule that import duty is calculated on CIF value.
