hypnotize
I'll be in Bangkok for two nights (arriving late at around 11:50pm the first night) and I'm looking for a reasonably priced hotel. Any recommendations?
jingjoe
It's under an hour to just about anywhere in bkk. Would you like to narrow it down to an area, a price range, and whether you want staff to kiss your arse or leave you alone?
hypnotize
PS - I'm looking for something near Koh San road. Anyone tried the Viengtai Hotel?
billp
Old Bangkok Inn, Baan Chantra, Erawan House, Boonsiri. All are near KSR but they're not backpacker's dives. What's your budget? Edited June 26, 2007 by billp
hypnotize
I'm not looking to go cheap and I don't want anything expensive. I want a place that's clean, comfortable, somewhat quiet, and has A/C. The Viengtai Hotel is around 1500bht. I wouldn't want to go any higher than 2500bht and ideally somewhere between 1000-15000bht. Does the Viengtai hotel even have a/c? No mention of it on their website.. Edited June 26, 2007 by hypnotize

billp
Boonsiri is in your price range, and it's new. The New Siam Riverside is brand new.
Jiu-Jitsu
Yes it's brand new, but is it finished? What are they charging? I think they quote 2500 when completed. Not worth it. 1200 is more like it.
