A grandson, who was high on illegal drugs, brutally beat his 79-year-old defenseless grandma to death with a spade and a rusty cleaver in Chonburi, according to a police report.

 

The heartbreaking incident took place at a house in the Khlong Kio subdistrict of Ban Bueng district, Chonburi, yesterday, October 20th.

 

Khlong Kio police and rescue workers rushed to the one-storey house to try to stop a violent incident involving a 30-year-old grandson who allegedly beat his grandmother while under the influence of illegal drugs.

And all that comes out are lip services about fighting drugs.

I trust they throw away the key.. and take him straight to jail.. no waste of process.

 

The BIB will work at directing traffic lately(not again). Anything not dangerous to themselves.

And the typical layman will get brave, 5 on 1, perhaps 4, but the bravest will even choose an elderly lady one on one, if not their GF.

But this one here, drugs or not, has reached the lowest level attainable...

I'm wondering if it really is a coincidence.    It might be the plan of media agencies to publish stories otherwise not told.  I've heard worse that never hit the major papers, many times over.

I expect more of these stories, and then a massive push for some drug reform/new penalties/something.

Probably just a case of whether a reporter hears about the story or not 

In a population of 70+ millions people, one would expect for such madness to occurs, specially where drugs use is rife...

But he was wearing a mask.

The generals keep ordering this problem gone but it looks like the police keep supplying it from the news this week ????

Execution should be on the menu for this guy. He is breathing air, that other can use.

I agree, but some human rights solicitor will argue a good old yaba 'out of my mind on drugs'  defence. 

One of the huge issues here is the princely treatment given to boys. They are nothing special. On any level. Yet, the parents let them get away with nearly anything, and spoil them rotten.

 

What Thai parents need to start saying to their sons is this: You are nothing special. Your sister is as good as you, or better. She works harder, she is more ambitious and she does not take everything, and everyone for granted. So, until you prove to us, to the family, and to the community that you are special, by your deeds, actions, and hard work, you are not anything but a normal kid. Nothing more. 

 

My guess is there are alot of Thai parents who wonder later, where did I go wrong with my son, and why did he turn out to be so self entitled, so spoiled, so unwilling to put in a hard days work, and how did he become so rotten, and so undeserving of our care and protection?

 

Also, it is my observation that alot of parents seem to have lost the art of parenting. The child sort of becomes the boss. This is epidemic in Thai households with the sons, who are treated as if they are very special, when they are just ordinary boys, who have proven nothing to the world yet, as to their worthiness for adulation. As a result, children today are less self-reliant. Many preteen children don’t yet know how to be alone at bedtime and they haven’t been forced to learn. Parents band-aid the issue by allowing co-sleeping. 

Agree with Spidermike above.  Mums & grannies conspire to produce egotistical brats who bankrupt the family with a few months in a wat; then payment of a sin sot before abandoning his wife/child for another sucker.

Thailand has a huge drug issue, compounded by mental patients who are not being treated.

Words fail me other than to say this was an utterly disgusting act. RIP old lady. So sad you died in this horrible way.

Off topic nonsense....some poor old lady died in a horrid way and you are still pathetically banging on about mask wearing. 

They are drug crazed because the doses are not pharmacy standard.

Unregulated alcohol makes them crazy too.
