Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has issued three edicts concerning the use of cannabis and hemp, includingcannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), in food and seasonings.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Traisuree Traisoranakul said today (Sunday) that the edicts, which came into force on October 23rd, are intended to tighten regulations on the use of the plants and their extracts in food and seasonings by food producers and vendors.

In seasonings, the amount of THC must not exceed 0.0032%weight and the amount of CBD must not exceed 0.0028% by weight. For other food products, the amount of THC and CBD must not exceed 1.6 milligrams and 1.41mg per unit of the content. The amount of the compounds must be clearly stated on the product label.

what is per unit of content ?

all i understand from this is my wife can sell edibles now.

Next door neighbour gave my wife some leaves the other week. She put it in a hot drink she cooked up. She slept 14 hours that night straight through !

Completely useless rules. Most food and drinks are prepared with raw or dried products with un-known THC/CBD concentration so the concentration in the end product will no be known.

As above, what is the unit of contents: per kg, per plate, per serving, per liter, per plate???

How is this being controlled by the authorities ???  Any law that can not be controlled is useless.

Originally for medicinal use only by pharmaceutical industries?

That soon got forgotten.

Why would you want to use hemp in seasoning? A better initiative would be to lower import duties on vinegar and olive oil in order to give tasty healthy cooking a chance.

Why you may ask, It's all about money. If the sellers state that there's some weed /extract in the food/drinks they will charge you more. (Greed)

And 99% of the time it will do absolutely nothing for you except add a bit of fibre to your diet.
