F1 - Max Verstappen fought back to pass Lewis Hamilton to win a dramatic United States Grand Prix and equal the record for victories in a season. His 13th win this year equals the record for wins in a season, held by Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel, and was sufficient for Red Bull to clinch the constructors' title for the first time since 2013, securing a double after Verstappen clinched the drivers' title last time out in Japan. Third was Charles Leclerc.

Football - In the EPL leaders Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at Southampton. Newcastle United moved up to fourth after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at the London Stadium. Mangerless Aston Villa hammered Brentford 4-0 and in the Midlands derby Leicester City recorded a comprehensive 4-0 win as well at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Fulham beat Leeds United 3-2 at Elland Road. In Spain second placed Barcelona won 4-0 against Athletic Bilbao and in Italy Victor Osimhen scored a wonderful goal as Serie A leaders Napoli beat Roma 1-0 to make it 11 consecutive wins in all competitions.

Cricket -  India beat rivals Pakistan by one run in the Men's T20 World Cup  at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. They scored 160-6 with Kohli scoring 82 not out. Pakistan were 159 for 8 off their 20 overs.
