Question About Reentry

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm a 24 years old Taiwanese. I get a question here about reentry.

I'm planning to visit Laos from Bangkok via Nong Kahi(Thailand) / Vientiane(Laos), and than heading to Cambodia, in the end I have to come back to Bangkok via the border between Poipet(Cambodia) / Aranyaprathet(Thailand). I've only applied a tourist visa, and the Thailand visa on arrived is not available in Aranyapathet checkpoint. But if I get a reentry stamp from Nong Khai , is that still valid at different border checkpoint like Aranyapathet ? :o

Thanks !!!

If you have a re-entry permit it keeps your current visa permitted to stay until date alive and is treated as a visa for entry. So yes you would be able to use a re-entry permit to enter Thailand at Aranyapathet. The only requirement for such a permit is that you obtain prior to exit of Thailand. Where in Thailand you obtain it does not matter.

Hi Armillajen

I hope you realise that your Tourist Visa will permit you a stay of only 30 days.

And as Lopburi says a Re-entry Permit will NOT extend that date

So you would be required to have your final departure from Bangkok

within 30 days of your first arrival.

However once back in Thailand an application for an extension to your Tourist Visa is an option.
