Are you aware that it was North Korea that invaded South Korea in 1950, and that there is still no formal peace between the two countries?  Are you aware that it is North Korea that is developing nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles?

Do you seriously expect South Korea to neglect its defense and not take measures to protect itself from North Korea?

L'il Kim gets grumpy when he is ignored, so he does the tyrant's version of throwing his toys out of the play pen. In his case, shooting his rockets.  Gotta be some psychology there....

People in Japan are noticing the definite uptick in missile launches since Biden took over the presidency.

I do think that if South Korea left North Korea alone , NK wouldnt keep firing missiles and unstabilising the region .

There needs to be dialogue between NK and SK  and USA , like Biden should go and meet with Kim , send him letters and be friends with him , no need to send the USA military to the region to scare NK into reacting

Seriously?  South Korea should just assume North Korea will leave it alone if South Korea ignores it?

I think South Korea knows a lot more about how to deal with its neighbor than you.

Regarding Biden copying the Trump approach; why?  What good came of it?

You are laughing at my posts .

I do find that to be rude and thus will not be replying to your points anymore and the discussion is over

North Korea will not stop to provoke South Korea. The previous South Korea President Moon who scaled back joint military exercises and public display of military strength to reduce tension have not worked. The current President Yoon is a conservative and will match North Korea tit-for-tat. The way to handle peace in the peninsula is through strength and certainly not by love letters.

So its "peaceful" when USA/SK are sailing around the peninsula and showing off their might and NK retaliate by firing rockets , that is peaceful and sending friendly letters to each other is hostile?

Those love letters were laughed off by Kim. Get real. You are dealing with a cold blooded dictator and not taking a tough stance will only make him bolder and reckless.

Those were short range missiles , which were acceptable to be fired as they couldnt go very far

They still carry conventional or nuclear explosive up to 1,000 km. So that kind of missiles are acceptable by you and non provocative.

The range was 400 Kilometres, and that range was acceptable to both myself and Mr Trump

"The missiles, launched from near the Hamhung area in eastern North Korea, traveled about 400 kilometers and reached a height of 48 kilometers, according to a statement by South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff."

No problem.  A quick internet search will show you that missile launches did not end after Trump's foolish fling with Kim.

There were no NK missile tests whilst Trump was speaking with Kim, Zero NK missile tests for 18 months between November 2017 and May 2019 whilst "love letters" were being exchanged .

There have been 35 NK missile launches since Trump left the POTUS job

You know how ridiculous you sound. Few thousands of joint troops in an exercise was deemed provocative  and firing of short range missiles that can carry nuclear explosive is dismissed and acceptable by you. You really lost the plot.

The USA/ SK war games , where they practice invading North Korea is viewed as provocation by NK and they respond by firing missiles as a warning .

If the USA would stop practicing invading NK , NK would stop firing their missiles .

That is the plot , its you who doesn't understand the plot

So you think the United States should continue to show the same weakness towards North Korea that Trump did? Remember when he agreed with the North that US-South Korean joint exercises were provocative and he called them off?

What do you mean by South Korea leaving North Korea alone? Once North Korea got all that attention from Trump after making wild threats and firing off missiles, it learned that acting belligerently was the best way to weaken the alliance between the US and South Korea. South Korea knows that not showing determination is the best way to encourage North Korea to continue its bellicose ways.
