The much-debated future of decriminalised cannabis use in Thailand comes to a head next week - what will happen? Police are cracking down on a proliferation of foreign-owned nightlife in Thailand. Cambodia shares some of its expertise with Ukraine in the clearing of mines.

Tim Newton Today is a daily, independent look at Thai and south East Asian regional news.

So basically am I understanding this right? This bill was meant to regulate cannabis but as long as it’s not passed everything stays the same? Am I reading this right?

Ok so sounds like good news it won’t get passed. The status quo should continue. What dangerous situation? LMAO.

Was the bill to regulate it in the first place? You sort of misrepresented the issue making sound like a bad thing for legal cannabis I think.

Of course it’ll continue. And they’re not assuming anything they can do it and they’re doing it. Lol

Not good news. No law means a vacuum that can be more easily filled by the next government drafting a completely new bill that bans recreational sales completely. If there is already a law with certain restrictions in place, it will be harder to amend that, than to draft a new law, if there is nothing in place.
