June 27, 200719 yr So, I've been in Thailand for about 6 months, but I have been working the whole time and haven't had any time to travel, really. My family is coming around Christmastime, and would like to know what I have planned for them. There are 5 of them, aged from 14 to 43. They'll be here for 9-10 days, and I'm really struggling to decide what to do with them. I thought they could fly into Bangkok, spend a day there and then head to one of the islands. Then maybe up to Chiang Mai, stopping in Ayutthaya on the way? I really don't want to work them to hard on the travel stuff, because it is their vacation and they don't have too much time. On the other hand, I don't want them to miss anything. If anyone has any recommendations on which island to go to (keeping in mind that most of their budget is going towards plane tickets and I would like to avoid heavy tourism as much as possible), or where else I should take them, please let me know. I would really appreciate some input from more...travelled....travellers....
June 27, 200719 yr where are you based? What are their interests? Are they sporty? Are they broadminded? What sex and nationality? Do they have any ideas? ARe they interested in culture or more good times?
July 2, 200719 yr Author I'm in Ayutthaya - they're fairly sporty, wouldn't mind some water sports-type-stuff, very broadminded, there's my dad, mom, sister (21) and brothers (14, 16). They want a vacation (good times, relaxing), but they want culture as well, they're not really the beach bum types. So about half-and-half. They need some adventure and some peace and quiet.
