Grab delivery service riders protest against allegedly unfair rule changes

Hundreds of GrabFood and GrabMart riders staged a mass protest today (Thursday), against changes to delivery service rules, issued by their company which, they claim, have resulted in a reduction in their earnings.

The riders gathered in front of the Central World shopping mall in Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong area this morning, before proceeding to their company offices on Phetchaburi Road.

The riders say that the company has imposed a zoning system, which has forced them to operate within each zone instead of throughout Bangkok. They also complain that they are ordered to take two delivery orders at the same time, instead of one, which has reduced their orders and the fees they can charge.

Grab Thailand, an on-demand delivery service provider, announced today (Thursday) that the company expects to resolve the current conflict with its GrabFood and GrabMart riders within 14 days, after hundreds of them protested today in Bangkok against the company’s rule changes which, they claim, have affected their earnings.

In a statement, issued late this afternoon, the company said that it has always attached importance to the opinions of its “partner” riders and customers, which are used as the bases for improvements to its services.

The company has always been receptive to opinions and suggestions and has opened several channels through which it can receive them, such as its call centre, Grab Facebook and Grab Partner Club, according to the statement.

It is greed Grab is the biggest and worse new rule should be don't drive and deliver talking or looking on the phone.  Required to pull over and they will foot the bill for all accidents their drivers create!

Hardly. Grab loses $3bn a year

The corrupt thugs that run the Win motorcycle taxi mafia are to blame. They will stop at nothing to stifle innovation and lower prices for consumers.

Stop using the orange jackets or the street taxis.

So the local taxis guys are to blame for Grab deciding to make their drivers take two orders at once, what have you been taking this morning?

Usually to the top.

Now now children. Just get back to work. Or find a new job.

Maybe they can go back to loitering around on their bikes popping pimples in the motorcycle mirror.

I don't see anything wrong with these rules. They just aren't adult enough to handle it.

That's right.

And the tuk tuks.

And the taxis that don't use a meter.

To hell with all of them.

Given the way Grab motor bikes are driven I wouldn't be sorry if they disappeared for ever.

Shut Grab down and the rest of these delivery companies. Then the people might get some road sanity back. These muppets don't deserve to be on any road. I can't believe that people can't walk up their soi to get a feed.

K. Muppet, how long have you lived here?
The craziness existed years before the GRAB boys tried to scrape a living.

Software developers, their managers who need more stock option and RSUs. Investors for the money they invested, and C-suite executive for their golden parachutes. Simple.
