'Paeng' damage to infrastructure now at P4.5 billion

MANILA, Philippines — The estimated cost of damage on infrastructure that Severe Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) continues to rise, according to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Monday.

 

In its latest situational report, over 34,900 houses and 800 infrastructures were damaged by Paeng, good for P4.5 billion worth of damage to infrastructure. 

 

81,800 farmers and fisherfolk were also adversely affected after more than 92,000 hectares of crops were left unusable, totalling P3.1 billion in damages to agriculture.
