Thailand's ministry of transport says Construction of The Thai Chinese high speed train project between Nakhon Ratchasima and Bangkok has fallen behind schedule, the reasons appear to be Covid 19, relocation of utility cables and acquiring land.


This section was due to be finished in 2026 but this and subsequent construction is likely to be delayed.

three people have been arrested on charges of running a factory which produced fake cough syrup, 
police raided 11 locations in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phuket, 


66,750 bottles of fake cough syrup, ingredients and production equipment worth around 70 million baht were seized.

 

A teacher has allegedly killed her 5 year old autistic son, officers say  she suffocated him with a  pillow,  she then attempted to commit suicide by drinking a glass of toilet cleaner at her condominium unit in Hat Yai,


The body of her five-year-old son was found by a house technician lying dead face-up on the bed, with pillows and blankets on the floor. 


Thailands deputy national police chief  says The heads of five major Chinese triads have been declared persona non grata, Two of them have been arrested while 3 others left the country on private jets.


It’s believed the group were involved in operating  entertainment places with connections to drug networks.

 

Thai immigration will launch a service to enable expats to apply for a visa extension and payment online, this will reduce the application time from around one hour to  just a few minutes. Applicants will then need to visit the immigration office to prove identity and complete the application. 


The service will be trialed in Bangkok before being rolled out nationwide.
