Prime Minister Prayut who’s currently in Phnom Penh is urging Asean nations  to further develop the region's digital economy, which is estimated to be worth more than US$360 billion this year.  


Adding the regulatory environment needs to be improved in order to ensure transparency, fairness, and quality, while training of human resources should be a priority.


Bangkok taxi fares look set to rise, with the current rate  staying at 35 baht for small vehicles while larger taxis will start at 40 baht. Rates for all taxis will increase by around 7 percent once the cab is moving. This will be the first price hike in 8 years.

 

Physicians and political groups petitioned a Court to ban the use of marijuana other than for medicinal purposes.


They accused the department of public health  and the Narcotics Control Board of decriminalizing marijuana without having any regulations to protect the public.


They urged strict enforcement of the law to eliminate drug production and networks.

 

Following a restructure in Thailand Paypal is no longer able to offer its services to non thai citizens and those without a valid national id card. The government says the move is to prevent money laundering, 
Paypal is now only available to those with a registered business account.

Jakarta: investigators blamed A faulty automatic engine throttle system that was not properly monitored by pilots for the crash of  Sri-wij-aya Air 737-500 jet, in January last year. The plane nose-dived 3,000 meters into the sea shortly after take off from Jakarta.
