Why cannot I ignore a member

I have tried to ignore a certain members but I get a message saying I cannot. He is not a moderator but just a painful individual. Could you please explain why?

    I think the process on this forum is to first get into debate you don’t have the intellectual or emotional tools to handle and then announce... “Thats it, you are on ignore”...  as if you have won !!!!....    then it may work !! 

     

     

    Alternatively... just don’t read the posts from the people you want to ignore..
