August 23Aug 23 A young Thai man was injured after being attacked by a group of men in Pattaya, following an alleged confrontation with passers-by, convenience store staff and app-based motorcycle riders.The footage, shared online and reported to journalists at 1.20am on 23 August 2026, was said to have been recorded opposite Soi Bongkot 6/3 in PattayaThe video shows several men in a scuffle with the young man, while bystanders and motorcycle taxi drivers attempt to stop the assault and separate those involved.Witness describes events before fightSomphot Meelab, 45, a motorcycle taxi driver seen in the video who helped intervene, said the young man had earlier been outside a convenience store.According to Somphot, the man was shouting, challenging people walking past and behaving inappropriately towards staff inside the shop. He then left the area to return to his accommodation.Somphot said the man later walked past a group of Bolt motorcycle riders and again allegedly challenged them and behaved inappropriately. He said the two sides did not know each other and had no previous dispute.He stated that a confrontation then developed, with about six or seven men attacking the young man. Some people present attempted to break up the fight, Somphot said.He added that he went in to separate the parties. The injured man later returned to his accommodation, while the group of men dispersed and went back to work.Police say no complaint has been filedInvestigators at Pattaya City Police Station said checks covering the duty period, found no report from an injured person or complainant connected to the incident.Police said the matter remains under examination because the social media footage shows only part of what happened. You can see this in almost every confrontation, where a number are kicking like girls when a person is already on the ground.
