The 40 and 41st ASEAN Summit and related summits Phnom Penh, chaired by Cambodia, came to a close on Sunday after months of preparations, however, the media at the some of the meetings ran into few problems.

Ministry of Information spokesman Phos Sovann said yesterday that on the first day of the meeting, there was a shortage of food for journalists with more than a dozen national and international journalists registered to cover the event which had about 1,790 people in attendance. Sovann said the issue was resolved the next day.

He added that another problem was that some international journalists behaved unprofessionally, as they violated the privacy of the leaders of certain countries, especially by taking pictures in prohibited areas. This case was also mediated and resolved by the Ministry. However, he said that on the last day of the ASEAN Summit journalists from the Voice of America (VOA) and the Voice of Democracy (VOD) were barred from covering the event.
