Nakhon Ratchasima: 63 Year Old Man Dies in Pickup Truck Collision
***UPDATE*** Wife and sister drove by the accident site today, still many pieces of the the former pickup strewn about. But the highway department has fixed the problem. They've installed a line yellow metal pole barriers stretching all the way from the main highway intersection to the beginning of the concrete barrier where the trucks were U-turning. These are ~10cm metal pipes, about 1-meter high, spaced every 8-10 meters in the median. Cars and small trucks can turn, but semis cannot. Problem fixed. Now the loaded salt trucks won't have to do a U-turn 250m from the plant entrance, on a lightly-traveled highway if they want to turn right to Phimai. NOW they have to drive to the Talat Khaen junction, turn left on the heavily-travelled A2 highway, drive ~3km south to the first official U-turn, do a U-turn into heavy traffic, come back ~3km to the junction, and wait up to 5 minutes at the red light with a very limited turn lane. Well, unless they use one of the two illegal U-turn spots on the A2 within the village area just past the junction. This will end well!!!!!!!! -

Makes me wonder if all the people who post unkind/ unfeeling comments on this subject ( and similar), have the 30 000 € and more to pay for an accident on top of their insurance , if they have any in the beginning that is ?? So easy to condemn when it’s not you. As a parent, would you have this money ready to cover your child’s hospitalization ?- 1

Where did you retire and why
These numbers look very low for everywhere except maybe Australia? The figures are based on a survey, not official data. I guess many "ex-pats" on tourist visas and/or maintaining a UK address for pension or banking purposes, will make any figures for ex-pats highly inaccurate. Only 41,000 in Thailand? There must be more than that in Pattaya alone? -

Update, finally got the translated documents from the agent ☺️ When the wife gets a day off from work it's back to the local office. We have now got and done all that the woman wanted. So, I expect to get the i.d card and yellow book this time. -
