One police officer was killed when a car bomb exploded inside a police compound in Naratiwat southern Thailand yesterday.


A single individual dressed as a police officer parked a car filled with explosives inside the compound prior to the blast.


At least 31 people were treated in hospital among them police officers and civilians. No one has claimed responsibility for the incident.

 

A new bill to legalize cannabis and hemp will receive it’s second and third  reading in parliament today, 20 to 30 MP’s say they will resign if the bill fails to go through. However opposition parties asked the courts to intervene with an injunction until there were more legal controls in place. 


The government drafted a bill which would hold businesses accountable for the sale of faulty goods for up to two years.


The bill is intended to protect consumers from businesses knowingly or unknowingly selling defective goods and refusing to take responsibility.

 

Two Chinese men allegedly involved in the abduction of another chinese business man last month in Pattaya were arrested yesterday. The two aged 27 and 30 had demanded a 35 million baht ransom 
from the businessman's family,  they transferred 150 thousand baht  in crypto currency to the abductors.

 

A French man was arrested in Rawai after officers found whale skeletons at his premises.  52 year old Thierry Alain, admitted to possession,  his arrest came after a tip off. 

 

The department of health says The number of Covid-19 cases has increased this month. Cases were expected  to increase in Thailand with the arrival of the cooler season and as more people get together.

Malaysia: There is still no decision on the outcome of the general election after several political parties met the country's king yesterday. 


No party gained enough seats to form a new government.


Anwar Ibrahim said the king had asked the two leading parties to work together to form a unity government. However, Mr Muhyiddin, said his party had rejected the suggestion.
