webfact Posted November 29, 2022 Share Posted November 29, 2022 Picture: Daily News Local officials in Pha Ngam sub-district of Wiang Chai, Chiang Rai, northern Thailand were examining a mysterious sinkhole that has appeared in a field used to rear fish. The hole is about 5 m in radius and is now full of water and fish that have been sucked below. In total about 3 rai or 1,200 square wah of land was drained via the hole killing 10,000 fish that simply disappeared. Picture: Daily News The hole is also getting bigger from a previous size of just 2-3 meters. Superstitious locals are worried about the hole suggesting that it is a portent of doom. If a borehole was drilled and underground water pumped up from below the water has decided to go back where it came from.
