Police yesterday arrested another alleged triad boss during a raid in Bangkok,  a Chinese man named Mr Tony allegedly brought in around 100 million baht in investments for a pub, A thai national was also arrested.


Raids were also carried out in Phuket, Samut Prakan, Chon Buri, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Pathum Thani and Ayutthaya. further arrests are expected.

 

Thailand’s Constitutional Court yesterday  endorsed a Bill that amends the electoral system for Members of Parliament, effectively laying the framework for the general election due by May next year.


A dual-ballot system will be used, where the electorate will cast one vote for their district candidate and another for a political party.

 

Three political figures will be prosecuted on charges of Sedition. The three include the former leader of the move forward party Mr Thanathorn and two others who represent Thanthorns new Progressive Movement. 


The charges date back to 2020 when police pressed for their prosecution for allegedly inciting political gatherings.

 

A 66-year-old man was detained after he was found to have a home-made gun with six bullets with him while welcoming Prime Minister Gen Prayut in Chiang Rai yesterday. The man said the weapon belonged to his son
