Awaiting confirmation. It would appear much depends on which province you are in with Bangkok being the strictest it seems. 

As I wrote in an earlier post, the Legalisation Office will forward your document to the Thai Embassy in London for you. They're quite familiar with doing this.

Well, this will certainly help. The sticking point is we went back to the immigration and they confirmed that the want a paper-based apostille but said nothing about if it needed to be legalized my the Thai Embassy, they didn't seem to know. Is this normally the done thing here? Would they accept an apostille that hasn't been legalized by the thai embassy?  Have you done this yourself?
