INN reported that the met Region 5 police chief Pol Col Punatphon Punsri, Lumpini police and health officials Descended on Sukhumvit Road Soi 11 last night looking for people illegally selling marijuana flowers.

This followed complains from the public, claimed the media.

Thongchai Lertwilai, chief of the Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine group, said they were checking licences.

One "food truck" was busted with a fake licence. It is impossible to register a vehicle to sell the flowers as it has no fixed address.

All the flowers were seized and 10,000 baht bail was posted by the owner.

A second large shop selling marijuana in the area was busted for not properly displaying their licence.

An ASEAN NOW reporter visited the area on Sunday and found many food trucks doing business or about to do so in the early evening.

The whole area of upper Sukhumvit is full of such vehicles and shops and stalls selling all manner of weed products.

Ahead of legislation expected in the New Year Thailand is still in a limbo regarding weed though a MoPH directive last month aimed to rein in the selling of the potent flowers.

Anutins populous policy is working Thai style..

usual free-for-all.

If they (the people) would quit talking about it ever other second most wouldn’t even notice… people tend to grow mountains out of mole hills… now drunk driving and lack of safety while driving is a real problem that should be adhered to… I’ve smoked pot back in the day and didn’t run out and buy any cause it’s legal or quasi legal…. There’s much much more to get control of than the occasional weed puffer…
