Hello all,

I used to live in Thailand with a non o visa / married to a thai.

Corona and a medical problem changed that.

I want to visit Thailand again, as a short term tourist.

Do I correctly understand that as a Belgian citizen I can get a "visa exemption" for 45 days?

How much does this cost, and in which currency can I pay at immigration? Is Euro OK or do I need to bring Thai Baht?

Many thanks for information.

No worries, enjoy your trip.

Remember the rule re funds (highly unlikely to be asked but it does happen now and then) 10,000 Baht in cash (or equivalent in foreign currency). You'll often see this quoted as 20,000 Baht, which is for a family - as far as I'm aware the rules haven't changed but I may well have missed it.

Never concerned me as I've always got more than 20K on me anyway (either fully in Baht or a mixture of various other currencies from travelling) and if you check various Thai embassy sites you get conflicting details.

45 Days visa exempt entry ends on 31st March 2023...   Then reverts back to 30 days.

Thanks - I will be travelling february - half march, so it will not affect me, but good for other travellers to know this.
