A Myanmar military court has sentenced Aung San Suu Kyi to a further seven years in prison, taking her overall jail time to 33 years.

The country's former democratically-elected leader has been under house arrest since a military ousted her government in a coup in February 2021.

Since then she's faced 18 months of trials on 19 charges - which rights groups say are a sham.

The UN Security Council called for her release last week.

On Friday she was sentenced on the final five charges she faced. A court found her guilty of corruption because she had not followed regulations in renting a helicopter for a government minister.

In other news, ASSK was sentenced to 20 years in jail with hard labour for failing to use green colour bin bags for her lawn cuttings....

 

The military junta control only 17% of the area of Myanmar (according to expert analysis).  When the junta falls (as it will), I hope that the military generals who are behind this sham junta are all taken out and shot, and their family assets confiscated.

Not my country, not my people (I'm not human), not interrupting my Pattaya bar scene..... carry on junta as you kill kids, take jade, destroy communities, rape women, murder villages, kill foreigners....

 

Maybe like during the Holocaust when the neighbors were flying to Pattaya and saying the same thing...
