Natural Resources and Environment Minister Varawut Silpa-archa has appointed Dr. Rungnapar Pattanavibool, deputy director-general of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, as the first acting director-general.

Two other deputy directors-general, Narin Prathuanchai and Sitthichai Sereesongsaeng, have been appointed the second and third acting directors-general respectively.

There is a footnote in the appointment order stating that, in case the first acting director-general cannot perform theirduties, the next person in line will take the place.
