Ever wondered which countriy is the most peaceful ?

Featured Replies

The most peaceful countries are those that have strict rules as to who can enter and live there. They don't let just anyone in and don't have open borders.

Name one or more? North Korea?

Singapore must rate highly

I said "The most peaceful countries are those that have strict rules as to who can enter and live there".

I didn't say "a place run by an insane tyrant who allows no one to leave the country and suppresses the entire population".

North Korea meets your stated criteria almost better than any other country. Maybe you could just name one.

Greenland gotta be

1. Western rule of law. Probably law is not intrusive as well.

2. Very low population

Next guess would be some nation states in South Pacific with tiny population and Bhutan

Have a great day Ozi. You need to get a hobby.

I'm sure prk is peaceful.

The people living there might have little inner peace but I'm guessing it's quite tranquil

And maybe you need to stop trolling since you made a big call filled with innuendo and now can't back it up.

Except for the ones who are in political prisons. The point is that there aren't any completely peaceful countries.  Even my tongue in cheek Greenland doesn't count as it belongs to Denmark.

Lol

Everything is political with you.

No, I imagine being locked up there is very peaceful - probably too much so.

I believe I responded to a post which was overtly political in what could / should have been a non political thread.

A country without any immigrants.

(communist countries excluded)

Interesting.

Just by chance I came upon an article about travel risk by country.

And there e.g. New Zealand is not in the highest category.

Safe but level 2.

Thailand is yellow (can go but prepare/take care)

Southern Thailand red flag (no wonder).
Malaysia safe level 2.

All the places listed in the video wouldn't be places I'd want to live.

And when they say peaceful, whom are they targeting?

Peaceful for men and peaceful for women wouldn't be the same place.

I've found peaceful places for me everywhere in Asia and nowhere in the West.

Iceland wouldn't be peaceful for vegetarians, there is lots of meat and almost no vegetables.

Immigrants in most countries are statistically less likely to commit crime than the denizens.

By your reckoning, Australia should be very unsafe. The political and social culture of the majority citizenry is the major determinant of safety. Witness the domestic terrorism in the USA. Mostly white supremacist hate groups posing the biggest threat to public order and safety. Ordinary crime is a socioeconomic issue rather than race.

While I didn't consider it any more peaceful than other countries I lived in, Saudi was quite safe to walk around in with lotsacash on one, given the punishment for theft or causing a disturbance was quite severe.

When I arrived in Singapore with the military, we were told not to disobey the cops or we'd be shot on the spot, which instills a certain sense of behaving while out and about.

Bhutan is supposed to have the highest happiness rating in the world.

I never felt unsafe in Thailand, but I am quite fearful in NZ- there are a lot of gang members about, considering the small population, and they are not nice people.

I stumbled upon a report about these gangs and was somewhat surprised.

For most Europeans New Zealand is the peaceful remote island in the Pacific.
