The sides are NOT equivalent.

Nobody is trying to ERASE the history of white straight people or make white straight people INVISIBLE.

The fascist politics that DeSantis is running with is basically a next step after Trump's politics of white resentment, white nationalism, or worse.

Wouldn't Cuban or Mexican studies be more appropriate to the location.

Your always right, I'm always wrong. Thanks for proving my point.

Hardly.

They make a damn tasty sandwich, FL's Cubans anyway (the Cuban ????????), right up there with Philly Hoagies.

And our fine friends from South of the border, certainly know how to stuff tortillas.

Considering 13% of the US population is black and 19% is Latino (27% Latino in Florida).

Why must everything be about black people, do Hispanics have no worth?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Florida

"According to the 2020 census, the racial distributions are as follows; 51.5% Non-Hispanic White, 26.6% of the population are Hispanics or Latino (of any race), 14.5% African American, 4% Native American, and 2.3% Asian, Oriental and other."

So you advocate having nothing about black people? They are more intrinsically tied to American history despite being less numerous than Latinos. And that's the whole point. The history of systemic racism in the US must be taught if there's to be any reconciliation.

I’m sure you think a lot of things, many based on facts, however ‘Anti-white racism disguised under the euphemism social justice or African studies’ is not one of your fact based thoughts.

OK say you’ve found out some statistics.

So what’s your aversion to some history?

That’s a perfect example of ‘resentment politics’ thanks for sharing.

This charlatan doesn't care about solving real problems for Floridians like the housing crisis. It's all about his divisive culture war garbage in his attempt to propel him to the presidency. Will Americans be fooled again?

If Trump could fool 'em ... who knows?

Only racists would say that. It's plain old history.

"Some" that couldn't actually DEFINE CRT to save their life.

Yes, he's worrisome.

Do you think that is likely to happen? Sounds very un-likely to me.

But the story sure triggered a lot of people right?

And that's what it's all about with people like Dosser Santos ... a tried and tested recipe: stir up enough hate, trigger the oiks, and tell big enough lies for long enough. And you know what? ... the oiks never ever learn.

We don't know what his actual mindset is but we do know that he's prepared to speak to the lowest common denominator for political advantage. Just like Trump.

That's how politicians win elections.

If only we could prevent the common man voting the world would be a perfect place.

All indications are that whatever it is it ain't pleasant.

No, Trump was the first US politician to stoop that low. Even the Bush family hate him.

Churchill was right!

You assume the ‘lowest common denominator’ resides with ‘the common man’, which is precisely the low opinion the rightwing elite have of working people.

Meanwhile, the facts on preventing ‘the common man voting’ are clear, vote suppression is a well and widely practiced policy of the GOP.

Who do you think the 'lowest common denominator' is?

If it were up to me no wealthy people (or people with wealthy families) should be allowed to run for public office. Even going to a private school should exclude a candidate from running for office. They only represent themselves and live entirely separate lives to the 'common people'.

I'll give you a hint: It isn't a person or people.

The expression "lowest common denominator" is used to describe (usually in a disapproving manner) a rule, proposal, opinion, or media that is deliberately simplified so as to appeal to the largest possible number of people.

I'll give you a hint, you should be arguing with Chomper on this point.

I think he already knows what it meant. You didn't since you asked who it was.
