A consortium of companies has begun construction of A new 220 kilometer high speed rail service linking Don Muang, Suvarnabum and U-Tapau airports, 
The 224 billion baht project is expected to be complete in 2029.
  

A demonstrator has died during a march to the Criminal Court in Bangkok to demand the release of political detainees including two young women charged with Les Majeste, the two have been on a hunger strike for 11 days.


The man Pie-rod  Chote-sripan-porn apparently sat down to rest and then collapsed, another demonstrator drove him to hospital , where he was  pronounced dead.


Meanwhile a Court refused to grant bail to 10 out of 12 political activists despite the rally taking place outside.
The court ruled that these are serious charges with some involving explosives, it is feared that if they are temporarily released they would either flee or cause more unrest.


Three Chinese men were rescued after their chinese registered sailboat mast and engine were  damaged during rough weather near islands off the coast of Krabi.


The three were wearing life jackets and managed to drop anchor while waiting to be towed back to shore.
