Recommendations for internal 2.5" ~250 GB SSD drive for PC

Update failed.

Don't worry about it.

The M3CR046 firmware update for the MX500 SSD is optional and aims to fix an issue that can cause the SSD to hang in certain situations. Most desktop and laptop users are not affected by this issue.

If you have not experienced any problems with your MX500 SSD, it is recommended that you do not install this update.

  • My recommendation for a 250GB SSD is a 1TB SSD.

Why not? Some people don't have huge amount of videos, etc. 250GB is enough for lot of documents and normal life.

  • Why would someone need a 250GB drive? Is it for an external drive, third drive or the main drive? Any drive will work. No need for recommendations.

Yes, I am aware of that.

Just worrying about the next update.

I've had a Crucial MX500 as my system drive for the last five years. It's stayed on M3CR023 the entire time. Never a problem, great drive.

Dear BigStar,

Did you enable Momentum Cache on your drive?

Good news!

Firstly, I enabled Momentum Cache. And then, I was able to update the firmware.

I never bothered. Perhaps I will, now that you mention it.
