So, no longer the hub of corruption - poor show, TAT will be shattered  with the loss of another hub.

Nothing to be proud of, and overall tells us what a crxppy place the world is.

For some time now.

Largely because of a few particular Western countries.

I was a tourist for 8 days in Samui.  I was fleeced every day by the taxi mafia even the cars with the taximeter logo on them had NO meters. On my last night I was shortchanged of 500 baht despite my family seeing how much money I tendered and how much I was given back.  A telephone call to the police proved fruitless. So I agree - increased numbers of tourists = more opportunities to return Thailand's corruption standing to the bottom of the heap.

A more honest report would note that Thailand shows almost no change on the corruption index. Its score has only risen by one point from 2021 and it shares 101st position with eight other countries.

So in real terms it's a big win for the deformation law 'Everyone is to scared to report the Green, Brown and Blue mafia' let alone the government.

Is it better than its neighbors? If so, kudos. If not shame shame.

Thailand more corrupt than Singapore, Malaysia, and ..., but less so than Myanmar. Well done, Thailand!
