Two female students, aged 21 and 23, remain in custody and weak but conscious after a three-week hunger strike, according Tammasat University Hospital. They are demanding the release of political prisoners and the abolishment of lese majeste and sedition laws.

 

A human rights lawyer said he believes the two young women may change their position on their hunger strike if bail is granted to 8 or 9 detainees who have been held but not sentenced for almost a year. 

 

The Chief of Immigration Police yesterday said about 110 of his men were involved in illegally arranging visas for Chinese nationals. He added these officers will face both criminal and disciplinary charges by the end of the week.

 

A Phuket travel agent who was seen attacking a Chinese tourist in a TikTok video claimed the tourist punched him first in a dispute over a refund. The 36-year-old tourist reported the case to police expecting help to seek a refund for a 9,000-baht tour package he paid a 5,000-baht deposit for, but was then unable to reach the travel agent.

 

A man claiming to be a gambling website administrator approached the Deputy National Police Chief asking for an investigation into a senior police officer for alleged assault last month in Chonburi. The man believed the order came from the owner of the website, who was reportedly dissatisfied with the decrease in the sites revenue.

 

The amazing Muay Thai Festival at Raja- batik park concluded last night,  with a new Guinness world record for the most number of people to simultaneously carry out the ‘Muay Thai’ ‘ Wai Kroo. Some 3,600 soldiers participated in the pre-fight ritual. The event closed with a fireworks display.
