OP, will you be free re-entering with a tourist exempt stamp or new visa if YES then you need to do a TM30.

If you reenter on existing visa with a reentry permit or existing visa then NO.

Where is this rule from? I have been trying to find it but theres no notice of it on Thai immigration website. They list the same requirements for tourist visa extensions as before.

2.2 of the change to rules concerning TM30 .

Think it was June 2020.

 

Here is rule: 

 

2.2 After the house holder, owner or possessor of the premise of hotel

 

manager has reported as defined in Article 2.1, the same alien has left the premise and

 

returned for another stay within the valid period, the house holder, owner or possessor

 

of the premise of hotel manager do not need to make another report;

If for eg he has a ME Non O and is doing a border bounce then he would not need to do a new TM30.

 

The OP never made clear his visa situation. 

If you will change your visa type you must do new tm30. 

 

If you will stay in the same visa no need tm30
