Iannisa Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Hi, My wife will be summiting her biometrics on Friday 10 Feb for her settlement visa at VFS Trendy House Bangkok and i was wondering how many days validity she will get stamped on the vignette . Will it be 30 days ? I had heard since Covid that the validity to enter UK had changed to 90 days. Has anyone got any up to date figures Thanks
theoldgit Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Whilst the rules still state that successful applicants need to travel to the UK within 30 days, as a result of ECO's being redirected to process applications from Ukraine, and maybe Covid as well, the validity of the vignettes has been extended to 90 days, because of the extended processing times. I'm aware of recent applicants, in Thailand and elswhere, who have all received vignettes with the 90 day validity. It could revert to 30 days at any time, to my knowledge the extended period has never formally been announced. 1 theoldgit
Tony M Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 As said by theoldgit, it could be 90 days or 30 days. Whichever it is, it can be extended if you don't, or can't, travel, and the cost is around 200 GBP for the application to extend. 1
keithcresswell Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 In our case last June. My partner was given 90 days, mind you it had taken 6 months for the decision.
Iannisa Posted February 9, 2023 Author Posted February 9, 2023 So basically it's wait and see. I'll get good lady to ask the question while having biometrics done.
Iannisa Posted February 11, 2023 Author Posted February 11, 2023 OK missus went for Biometrics and staff didn't know ,just said wait and see

From his earlier posts it would seem that his wife applied in the middle of November, so in the region of thirteen weeks ago, so just about back on track. theoldgit
