Thai Rath reported that a factory worker in Pathum Thani was killed at a bus stop in Pathum Thani while waiting for her boyfriend.

Nan Khai Win Sui, 26, had just finished the night shift yesterday morning when a Honda sedan driven by Anuwat Bunkham, 25, plowed into her propelling the victim into the undergrowth by a roadside ditch.

She suffered an almost detached right leg and Ruam Katanyu rescue services were unable to save her at the scene.

Her boyfriend - they had recently met - arrived to cradle her dead body in tears.

Anuwat, from Roi-Et, was in agony from a twisted ankle and arm injuries and was taken to Pathum Thani Hospital.

A colleague of the deceased Tui Tui No, 34, said that the victim was at the "sala" bus stop while she had just gone into a 7-Eleven.

She heard a loud noise and rushed out and called the authorities.

Muang district police said the usual things about fast speed and possible microsleep.

They would check the driver's blood for alcohol and study CCTV to help understand what happened.

The accident happened on Route 345 inbound.

The media published pictures of utter devastation at the scene.

Horrible!

If you have to wait at the Thai roadside, always stand behind a concrete lamp/power post.

Yes, horrible indeed. It was at the end of her night shift so presumably 8 am ish, the driver was presumably late for work and had his foot down, presumably. Anyone who has driven first thing in the morning understands this as later risers rush to get into work on time, it's a very dangerous time of day.

Yeah, but they can't drive through them!

That's the last place you should stand. Every Thai driver seems to aim for the poles, judging by the number who crash into them every week. The only safe place might be up a tree, but a driver somehow managed to fly through the top of a tree opposite my house, so better not to leave home at all. And then stay out of any room facing the road, because......

presumably.

What a horrific story. I do agree waiting behind a power pole or a tree would be the safest place. But who would do that, and who would expect a maniac driving a car to plow into a bus stop?

The only way to make sense of a tragedy like this is to attribute it to the Grim Reaper. When it is your time, he will come for you no matter where you are.

I can't think of anything worse... Jeezus H Christ when is Thailand going to do something positive regarding the sheer number of nutters on the road.

Should have dragged him in agony to where the poor girl was laying with her leg almost ripped off and said your moaning about a twisted ankle...

Look at her your murderous swine.

Then twisted it more as they threw him in the back of the wagon ans slammed the door on his foot...

It's o.k. She was only a worker from Myanmar, so you will hear absolutely nothing more of this story.

Different nationalities, different levels of importance unfortunately.

R.I.P. to another innocent victim.
