If you didn't have a poster of Farrah Fawcett on your bedroom wall as a teen growing up then you probably had one of Raquel Welch.

RIP.....

She toured in Vietnam and Thailand with Bob Hope, a U.S. entertainer who made a Xmas tour for US troops every year. During Vietnam war. Usually stopped at Ubon. She appears in perfect shape at 14m20s here in 1967

Her publicity played down that she was Latina in her early days.  I think she was at her best doing bit parts that parodied her public image.  The last thing I saw her in was Tortilla Soup -- not a great movie, but she steals the show playing a certain type of aging Latin woman (I've had in-laws like that).

She was born in the USA with an English mother and a Spanish/Bolivian Father , not sure that can be regarded as "Latina" .

Why even bring race into the equation ?

Maybe because representing her culture was something she was publicly passionate about in her later career.

A more interesting question is why her passion for her culture triggers you, and why you think you can determine her cultural identity better than she herself?

BTW - latin is. a cultural identity, not a race.

LOL. They were in my future when I was a teen.

I never had any posters of women on my wall as a teenager, but if I had, they'd have been of Audrey Hepburn.

She was my girl when I was in Vietnam in 1967-68. I would have to fight to get a front row seat.
