  • Everyone knew Fetterman was diminished.  The guy could barely talk.  Yet, he still beat Oz.  Says a lot more about the Republican candidate, don't you think?

  • So the party that elected Marjorie Greene along with Bobart, Gaetz, Santos and other assorted bat shxxt crazy MAGA morons is now concerned that an elected dem might not be up to the job?  Laughable.

And still they're beating the GOP candidates hands down!???? I could ask you what that told you about the loonies the GOP is fielding but that would be a total waste of time, wouldn't it.

Perhaps...? Is that all you've got.

And I think that were it a favored right wing republican candidate who this happened to, their supporters would have endorsed them continuing the race.

Add in they would have even elected a dead Trump backed republican......

Nice deflection attempt. Do try to stay on topic.

No deflection at all.  The truth.

What we DO know is that the Fetterman campaign played a brilliant game of "Hide the Candidate", taking pages from the successful Biden 2020 effort.   Add in a few "...ism" accusations and all was well.

Never said otherwise, of course it is Fetterman's decision.  But the machinations and manipulations were disgusting. Not sure why you are trying to insert the various abortion related euphemisms into the discussion, unless that is all you have to use.

You are disgusted over the machinations and manipulations you yourself allege.

Faux concern and now faux outrage.

Let’s have some honesty Fetterman won his election, that there is the point the rightwing object to.

What we know beyond any shadow of doubt is Fetterman won his election.

Oh yes. Has to come back to Trump.

With his health issues, mind boggling he was their candidate, and, got elected.

Picking the best of too evils, when it appears nobody wants the job ????

Just goes to show how abjectly bad his opposition was. Dr Oz, lol.

Always will. BTW Who was backing the candidate who lost to Fetterman?  Who wanted a recount and who still believes in the big lie. I am neither a Dem nor Republican, and despise politics, but when claims of rigged elections are made by a pouty temper tantrum throwing group led by a serial tweeter well then....you reap what you sow.

Surfaces? That's a polite way of saying 'appears from under the bridge'.????

...which seems like it was the plan all along. Control of the Senate was hanging in the balance and the Dems couldn't take the chance of switching candidates in mid campaign. So they used the sympathy vote and a remarkably compliant media to help Fetterman stagger across the finish line. Now he has done his job, he can be jettisoned for a new senator, chosen by the Democratic governor.  I only hope he hasn't permanently damaged his health in the process.

A remarkably craven and effective political strategy.

Well, as political shenanigans go you gotta admit that compared to the coup attempt this is pretty mild stuff, right?

Our people?

What are those?

Don't think he should be written off just yet, he's suffering depression, that's treatable, all indications are that he's expected to make a recovery.

"former Obama adviser Tommy Vietor said Fetterman was “incredibly brave … to talk about his mental health challenges publicly, especially knowing that people will try to exploit it for political purposes."

“But his decision to come forward will undoubtedly help encourage others to seek help.”

C'mon, man!  Let's try to stay on topic without the inevitable drift into NABAT territory please. The act of hiding Fetterman's true condition from the public was reprehensible.

Was Trump hiding his medical condition from the public reprehensible? Fetterman has done the opposite, that's how you know he's being treated for depression. One American president hid the fact that he had polio for years.

Really, please tell us why.  How about hiding Santos illegal shenanigans allowing him to be elected....Tit for Tat.

I could ask what NABAT stands for but I don't care, so I won't. Setting aside for the moment your claim that Fetterman's "true condition" was "reprehensible", why/how was is reprehensible?

I believe that since the GOP has turned into a fascist party who's elected representatives have, almost to a person, sacrificed their souls on the MAGA altar in order to cling to power. What Fetterman may or may not have done in the way of not being completely forthcoming is perfectly fine with me. In fact, I applaud it. The Dems could be fielding a herd of syphilitic donkeys for all I care. In almost every case it would be a huge step up from what the GOP would choose to run.

Gee you can’t be referring to the Biden campaign that during the height of a raging epidemic that killed more Americans than all the wars we have been involved in (btw)played it safe as to not contribute to the staggering death toll that Covid brought to our nation surely not,as for Fetterman he won fare and square get over it stop sniveling rejoice in the knowledge that the man in the seat is genuine and transparent about any health issues he may be having

Or maybe the problem was that the right wing press went into its usual rabid attack dog mode, particularly after Americans got to see Fetterman in the debate with Oz? Maybe their comments were so far over the top as to excite sympathy for Fetterman? Do you know that there were people out there who actually called Fetterman a figurative vegetable? Even though neurologists pointed out that this clearly wasn't the case.

"The Right Wing Press"?  Outside of Fox News, there is almost no right wing press in the United States.  Every other major tv/cable outlet leans left to one extend or another, with the possible exception of CNBC. Ditto all the major newspapers, with the exception of the Wall Street Journal editorial page and the New York Post.

The media today is singing a very different tune than during the campaign, that's for sure.

Perhaps I should have used the term right wing media? Given all the various right wing loons who peddle all sorts of angry fictions pleasing to their audience via radio and podcasts. And there's also websites like 4chan which launched the Qanon movement.

Why you don't elect people with obvious, current, health issues:

Reported in news outlets ... Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman has missed nearly 83% of Senate roll call votes

Interesting that you would resurrect a month-old thread to cast aspersions on a senator who is in the hospital.  Just to answer your question, why don't you stop running candidates who are as out of touch as Dr. Oz?
