My computer is too slow to take the test.

Anyway, I believe that religion is like movie-watching or novel-reading or poetry or all of the arts as opposed to sciences whereby to experience what it has to offer it is expeditious to temporarily suspend dis-belief. It is this suspension of dis-belief that allows one the freedom from his pre-conceptions and opinions and gives a freedom to investigate in an artistic rather than a scientific sense a new perspective.

All those religions that end up on the bottom......can someone figure out how to answer the questions to get them on top....can anyone get 100% Jehovah's Witness for example?

Hi Chownah, I suppose some religions are more fixed than others, especially where this quiz is concerned. . Unitarian Universalism seems to cover almost all beliefs and so explains its popularity.

As far as a remember there is a question about abortion and answering this in a certain way could exclude you from the RC group. Jehovah Witness believe in specific things which you would probably need to agree with in the quiz, but Islam covers a range of different schools of though so is probably slightly easier to score higher on.

Posted

Hi Garro,

You might be right about these things...but can you get a score of 100% for some of these bottom of the barrel religions?...Jehovah's Witness for example?

How about taking the quiz again and this time answer everything the same as before but change your answer to the abortion question for example and see how much it affects your bottom of the barrel religion scores....and your top drawer religion scores too for that matter.

Perhaps Jehovah's Witnesses are not permitted to do an online quiz about their beliefs, so doing one automatically disqualifies you from being one. I might try doing the test later and see if I can get JW as no1. I'll let you know.

Seems like the quiz thinks that Jehovah's Witness and Roman Catholic are almost the same since they always seem to be near each other in the rankings...either both at the top together or both at the bottom together....does this seem right? Are Jehovah's Witness and Roman Catholicism really similar?

I am glad you are pleased with your results jamesc2000 :o

Remember though, that even among Theravada members there is debate about what Theravada is.

It would be interesting to see how Ajahn Buddhadhassa or Ajahn Chan would score on this test.

Now I have to google "Secular Humanism". What is it? Is it agnostic?

I'm surprised at the results, as I just don't believe. Full stop. I answered some of the questions as regards doing good and the political issues from my own ethics & morals, but I don't believe they make any difference spiritually. They just make a difference to your own life & that of others in the here & now.

i didn't write the test so i don't know their criteria for scoring, but i suspect the more you selected high or low as opposed to medium priority the better your chances of receiving a 0% in any catagory.
