Thailand’s transport minister Saksayam ordered to cease performing his duty

Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob has been ordered by the Constitutional Court to cease performing his duty, effective today (Friday), after the court accepted a complaint from 54 opposition MPs, alleging that the minister is the owner of Buri Charoen Construction Limited Partnership.

Thailand is bracing for scorching temperatures as summer officially begins this Sunday, with the season expected to last until around mid-May. Bangkok is expected to see record-breaking highs of 39C, the hottest since 2019.

Draft Prostitution Law To Set Voluntary Service At Minimum 20 Years

A COMMITTEE drafting a new law governing prostitution has agreed that voluntary sexual service without any criminal penalties should be allowed from 20 years of age, Matichon newspaper said.

The sight of a man frantically trying to put out a fire in the back of his pick-up in Thailand after a passenger threw out a cigarette butt reminded me of an incident in Australia in the 1980s before I lived permanently in Thailand.

A FIRE broke out at the three-storey Metropolitan Police Division 5 building in Sathorn Soi 8 at 4 a.m. this morning (Mar. 4) with the whole structure gutted in the fierce blaze but there were no casualties, Thai Rath newspaper said.
