National park officials and police stopped two trucks and arrested two men in Nakhon Ratchasima, officers discovered 47 macaques in bags, the monkeys were alive but some were sick, the drivers admitted transporting the animals which were destined for China, but said they didn’t realize they were protected. Both face charges, the monkeys were taken to a wildlife center in Chaiyaphum. 
 
A woman was stabbed by a man in samut prakarn yesterday, he had attempted to set her on fire, she ran naked out to a ditch but was then stabbed by the man, several people around tried to help but were unable to prevent the attack,  one person suffered burns.

 

5 men were jailed for almost 5 years after being found guilty of Killing a tiger and her cub at a national park in Kanchanaburi.

The group were ordered to pay damages of 750 thousand baht to the national park.  

 

A spokesman for the department of public health says thailand spent around 444 billion baht on dealing with the covid outbreak during the last 3 years, just over 77 billion baht was spend on the purchase of vaccines, 

 

Water cannons were used to spray water into the air in an attempt to reduce PM2.5 fine particle pollution in Chiang Mai yesterday, the air quality index has been in the red and unsafe,  authorities identified almost 90 hot spots due to burning and say they can expect at least 2 more days of smog.

Indonesia: A court ruling  that the 2024 election process be postponed until 2025 has drawn a backlash from civil groups and political leaders in Jakarta. The court ruled a software glitch with the election commission’s system prevented verification of one of the political parties. Opponents will likely appeal the court decision.
