Entry Stamp Or Visa

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm a 40 year old from the USA. I have checked previous postings and not finding a full answer to my question. Sorry if it's there and I didn't find it.

I have been traveling for the past year, and since January of this year have made Bangkok a base of sorts between exploring other Asian countries. Since January, I have entered Thailand 3 times, staying for a total, from January to June 11th, 88 days. I'm currently in Bali and will be in Singapore later this week. I would love to spend a month in Thailand before ending this amazing year. From what I understand, I can spend 90 days in Thailand over 6 months with an entry stamp. Since I'm close to that time frame, I had planned on getting a visa in Singapore for Thailand, but am wondering if this is something I can do while in Thailand with the 2 days I have. I would love to not spend time in Singapore.

Is this possible, or should I just get a visa in Singapore?

Many thanks!

You cannot get a tourist visa inside Thailand. You have to get it from a Thai consulate, and these are outside Thailand.

Thanks. Did it only just now. Had a nap in the afternoon (Swiss time) and missed the race. Woke up at 7 pm, thought it was 7 am and had another breakfast. Switzerland won the Americas Cup again. The competition is over; tomorrow I shall return to my old avatar, the banana leaf. (No need to rub it in too long. The Kiwis sailed very well, too)

Thanks for all the replies! Didn't know there was a Thai consulate here in Bali. Mac, thanks for the address and numbers. I went this morning, will pick up my visa tomorrow and be in Bangkok in time for lunch on Friday. I am very grateful!

De nada, and glad to see things, and the timing, worked out OK, seems to happen rarely....
