Thai Rath reported on a robbery attempt at a gold shop in the Sampran area of Nakhon Pathom in central Thailand yesterday at 1pm.

There were 4 staff in the Yaowarat M-Gold shop in Tha Talat sub-district, two out front and two in the back.

A man dressed as a postman arrived in a full face helmet and he had a package.

A staffer called Oui went out and saw that the name on the package was not anyone in the shop.

All of a sudden the man whipped out a gun and threatened the staffer saying that he would shoot her if she set off the alarm.

All this was caught on CCTV video.

He demanded that 10 x 10 baht weight gold necklaces be put in a bag he hurled onto the counter.

The staffer managed to get through a door to the display cases then slip out to the back of the store.

The would be robber decided to flee empty handed and escaped in a black Honda City car that was parked 100 meters away.

It had no registration plate.

Sampran police are studying CCTV to follow the escape route of the robber.
