The association’s president, Phattanan Phisutvimol, says property sales have been on the up since Covid-19 began to abate last year. “This year will be the golden year for Phuket’s property market. The boom will continue.” She says sales are now at pre-pandemic levels, with all completed condo and pool villa projects sold out, most of them to foreign buyers. She adds that last year, a total of 823 real estate projects, including hotels, were given the green light for construction to proceed. Maybe so, but what about the hundreds of properties that were abandoned during Covid and have been left to rot - including a few major projects in construction that remain at a virtual standstill and yet still with a staffed sales office out front? 1 1

A total of 823 new projects approved to be built upon an infrastructure that isn't capable of supporting current requirements. Not surprising.
