Songkran to be celebrated at 198 locations in Bangkok

Bangkok residents and tourists will be able to enjoy Songkran celebrations at 198 locations around the capital, with the main attractions being Khao San Road, Silom Road, Lan Khon Muang city square and various shopping malls.

 

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt dismissed a report today (Monday) that the city administration has cancelled the celebration on Silom Road, saying that the event on the road is usually organised by the private sector and whether the road will be closed to traffic will depend on the traffic police.

 

“If there are many people celebrating Songkran there, the police will close the road anyway,” he said.
